Everyday is a Celebration

March 3, 2013 by Anna M. Clausen in Wisdom
I want to speak to everyone today about the adversities of being away from their family, not only at festive times like the holiday season, but at all times. It is a challenge to deal with the feeling of separation that is brought about by being incarcerated. As men in khakis, you must focus on the good of the situation. While incarcerated, we have a good opportunity to address our personal issues. We can also use this time to build and repair bonds with our family. Instead of waiting for holidays to come, I believe we need to find ways to celebrate with family at all times. My advice is to make regular days special in your own way. Then, relate your ideas to your family so that together you and your family can rise above the adversity and despair of being apart. Every day that you are alive, you have a reason to celebrate.
