The FIRST Issue!

February 5, 2013 by Anna M. Clausen in Editors Letter
MCKEANThe first issue! My son, Adam Clausen, is currently incarcerated at FCI McKean in Pennsylvania. He has served 13 years of a 213-year sentence. Because of his incarceration, I recognized that there was little means for inmates to get information from the outside, particularly legal news, nor was there an avenue for them to express their views. Thus was born the idea of creating a newsletter. Via this media, I can facilitate communication both ways! This can be a forum for inmates to voice their thoughts and ideas – and creativity – as well as a means to provide them with valuable information to which they otherwise would not have access. I hope that this is a vehicle by which inmates and families can also learn what is available at other facilities. At least for this issue, the articles and stories you will read are relative to FCI McKean. I ask, and encourage, participation from inmates and families who are involved at other facilities. Please Submit your comments, suggestions, and/or articles, for consideration.
